Driver's age

25 to 99 years.

Young driver's age: 21 to 24 years. Charge 24.4 EUR per day. Includes 22% tax

Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to hire a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.

Travel Restrictions

Vehicles cannot be driven into and/or dropped off in any African, Asian, or Middle-East countries, nor in Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.

Vehicles may be driven into but not dropped off in Finland, Ireland, Norway, Sweden.

Vehicles may be driven into and dropped off in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia (Ljubljana only), Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom (islands not included).

Vehicles cannot be driven in any of the East European countries with the exception of Croatia where the transit only is allowed with written authorization which is given at the time of pick-up and attached to the rental agreement. Moreover Hertz vehicles are not allowed to be taken on ferries from any Italian Harbour with destination Croatia.

Should you bring the vehicle outside Italy, a Cross Border fee of € 30.00 (including tax) will apply.

Please note a penalty charge of € 600.00 may apply, should you omit to declare you will be driving the vehicle out of Italy.

While driving on highways and national roads the dipped headlights must be used all times day and night.

Should these restrictions be ignored all insurance (Third Party Liability, CDW, TP, Super Cover, PI), if accepted, shall be deemed null and void. The driver will be held fully responsible in case of damage to, or loss of the vehicle and will bear all consequences, including the cost of repatriation of the damaged vehicle.
